Pearl Necklaces
My daughter is going to her first school dance this coming weekend and asked if she could borrow one of my pearl necklaces to wear with her dress. My little girl is growing up. It seems like just yesterday I was bringing her home from the hospital when she was born, and now she’s a senior in high school. She has a boyfriend, a great group of friends and now she’s going to her first dance. Time certainly flies doesn’t it? I told her that I would think about letting her borrow one of the pearl necklaces, but that she had to promise me not to take it off, or to let anyone wear it for even a moment. She promised, and I know she will keep her word. I think that I may let her wear one of the pearl necklaces that her father gave me when we were in school and attended our first dance. We had been dating a while by that time, and it was a Christmas dance. I’ll never forget. He gave me the pearl necklaces, which were my Christmas gift, before the dance, and I think they’ll look beautiful on our daughter.
