pearl necklaces, gold jewelry


My mother passed away several years ago. The task of cleaning out her personal items was not an easy thing to accomplish. My brother and sister in law were there and we went through everything together, making those sometimes heart wrenching decisions on what to keep and what to give away or throw away.

Mom had a cream colored leather jewelry box. I have the jewelry box in my closet still today. And I love it! The three of us spent a good amount of time pulling Mom's gold jewelry and things out of the box. Some of the items made me feel so good, in memory of Mom!
 
It was very heart warming when we came across two pearl necklaces. Mom had always wanted one. So, in the same year she bought one for herself and Dad gave her one. My Father wasn't aware of this and gave her one for Christmas the same year. Mom didn't let on as he was very proud of his gift. My sister in law and I each choose one of the pearl necklaces. We wear them every year at Christmas in memory of Mom and Dad!
