Sweet 16 and Gold Jewelry |

My best friend and her daughter absolutely love gold jewelry. While I admit that I do have a few pieces of white gold jewelry that I wear on special occasions, most of the jewelry that I wear on a regular basis is silver. I happen to like to wear silver more than gold jewelry, mostly because it's so affordable that I can buy a new piece whenever I want without breaking the bank. Our daughters happen to also be best friend, and I've noticed recently that my daughter has started showing affection towards gold jewelry. She only has one piece of gold jewelry herself, but I've noticed that she's borrowed her best friend’s jewelry on more than one occasion, something I prefer she didn't do.
Both girls are turning 16 in several months and we decided to let them celebrate their birthdays together by giving them a huge sweet 16 party. If the party wasn't enough, I thought I would get my daughter her first piece of gold jewelry this year, but wanted it to be something that she would be able to keep and cherish regardless of her age. She loves turtles, and I wondered how hard it would be to find gold jewelry with turtles. I didn't ever remember seeing any, but when I started browsing, I came across 14k Green Jade Turtle Pendant Fits 1mm that I found for a great price at A1 Jewelry Online whose online store can be found by visiting www.a1jewelryonline.com. I always order silver online, but I was shocked at how affordable gold was online, so I ordered the necklace for my daughter immediately. I'll put the jewelry away so she won't find it before her birthday, that way she'll be surprised. I told her that the party was going to be her gift, since money was tight, and she was more than happy with that. I know she'll be surprised when I hand her the box and she opens it and not only finds gold jewelry, but gold jewelry with a turtle. She's going to love it, and I know that this is going to be a special day for her and the beginning of a journey into adulthood. I can't help but get a little teary eyed when I think about it, since it seems like just yesterday she was born and I was bringing her home from the hospital. Time most certainly flies. |
