gold jewelryI have just read another contributor’s post with great interest. It was about her daughter now being old enough for gold jewelry of her own. This post interested me because I am raising a step-granddaughter called Alisha and I do not think she is really ready for gold jewelry. Other relatives have bought it for her and my husband and I have noticed that she still tends to be careless with it.
Is there a set age at which a daughter or granddaughter is mature enough to be trusted with the gift of gold jewelry? I do not think that there is because kids mature at different speeds. Alisha is eleven years old. She is a preteen who thinks she is twenty-one but obviously isn’t. She has to show a certain level of respect, maturity and sincerity in order to prove that she is going to be able to take care of her gold jewelry properly before my husband and I will agree to buy her any.
Alisha isn’t there yet but I think she will grow up a lot in the next few years. I’m looking forward to buying Alisha gold jewelry when I think she is ready. She’s a very pretty girl and she’s going to look amazing in it.
