One of my good friends recently graduated college and moved to the west coast after landing a job. With him came one of our other buddies who was ready to move away from home. He has worked within his family business forever and was nervous to try something new in a different place. After some convincing, he decided to come along and has since set up some job interviews for this week. He asked me to read over his resume which looked good and then I asked what else he plans to do to land a new job. Dressing up nice, reviewing the traditional interview questions, study the company’s history and discount watches. The last thing caught me off guard. What did he mean, discount watches?
A watch is a staple in business garb. He didn’t have any that fit into the business world so he had started looking online for discount watches to add to his new suit. Makes sense. I think a couple of the jobs I landed had to do with how I dressed including the watch. Answering the questions honestly probably didn’t hurt either. I think he has got the interview process covered.
