Gold Jewelry
During the Christmas holidays one of my friends called me aside at a party and asked where I always find the amazing gold jewelry that I wear. She commented that while most people always wearing the same types of gold jewelry, I always have something on that is unique and she wanted to know what jeweler I was shopping at.
I wish I had video of the expression on her face when I told her that I ordered all the gold jewelry that I wear and give as gifts online. She couldn’t believe it. Then again, she also admitted that she’d heard of other people shopping online, but she never gave it much thought. I figured that was a good time to let her in on the fact that she’s been paying far too much for gold jewelry and probably everything else if she’s been paying full retail, because not only was the selection better online, the prices were often a fraction of what they would be in the local stores. I suggested that she stop in after the New Year for a cup of coffee and a lesson in online shopping. She promised she’d do just that. I guess we’ll see how bad it is that she wants to get great prices on gold jewelry.
