Luck of the Irish and the Gold Jewelry |

Yesterday I was out taking advantage of the gorgeous weather and had decided to do some work in the yard. I took off all my gold jewelry and left it in a bowl on the kitchen counter so that I wouldn't lose anything while I was digging around in the dirt and decided to get busy. Several years ago, I'd learned my lesson about wearing my gold jewelry while gardening, when I ring slipped off my finger without me realizing. I still haven't found that ring, but I keep hoping that one of these days I'll be digging around in the flower beds and it will appear. Wouldn't it be great to find the gold jewelry after all these years? Luckily that particular piece of gold jewelry didn't have any sentimental value, but was something I'd given myself. I still hate to lose anything though, especially gold jewelry.
I was on my hands and knees bent over digging out the weeds that had accumulated over the winter when I heard a familiar sound of someone whistling. I figured it must be my neighbor across the street, and when I looked up, I saw that she was headed over for a visit. I hadn't seen her in a while and I'd wanted to invite her over for coffee, but lately it seems that there aren't enough hours in the day. She was smiling and I noticed that she had a box in her hand. She asked if I had time for a break because she'd just finished baking some apple muffins and thought maybe I'd want one while they were hot. I had been digging for about an hour, so I stood up, took off my gloves and headed into the kitchen with her following behind me. She noticed my gold jewelry and commented that it was smart of me to take it off while I'm working in the garden. That led me to tell her the story about how I'd lost the piece of gold jewelry several years before and didn't want to make that mistake again.
While we were talking, she showed me a gorgeous piece of gold jewelry that her husband had just given her. Since she's part Irish, and her birthday is on Saint Patrick's Day, he'd given her a beautiful 14 Karat W CLOVER PENDANT W/18" CH D.32TW that he found for her at A1 Jewelry Online whose online store can be found by visiting www.a1jewelryonline.com. I loved the design of the gold jewelry and even though I don't wear white gold jewelry that often, that's something, I would love myself. Her husband definitely has great taste in gold jewelry. We enjoyed a chat, and the muffins were fantastic. I need to make a mental note to get a card sent to her sometime this week for her birthday. |
